Fauzia has launched her first novel ‘Skeena’, and her first poetry chapbook ‘Passion Fruit/tahnget Phal’ earlier this year. Chapbook contains poems in English and Punjabi (Gurumukhi and Shahmukhi). Fauzia will present a selection from her upcoming novel ‘Triple’.

Ben Nuttal-Smith is an accomplished writer of prose and poetry. This year, he launched his novel ‘Blood, Feathers and Holy Men’. Ben also offers speech and presentation workshops for writers.

Poetry in the Park is initiated by Candice James, the Poet Laureate of New Westminster, with the support of New Westminster Arts Council. The program will continue during summer.

Reese Rogue McBeth (a.k.a. The Kamikaze Kid) is a Comedian, Writer, Poet, Performer. He is the author of books The Horrible Lovers Guide To Eating Cereal (2002), Big Boobs A Love Story (2004), Why My Mother Sold Me (2006), The Dummies Guide to Being a Pervert (2010). Collectively, they are known as The Worst Books Ever Written, and are shockingly not about anything good. He is currently hard at work on nothing. Reese is a must see!!!

Daniel Mark Patterson (a.k.a. The Modern Day Penguin) is a popular and familiar figure in the Lower Mainland Poetry Slam Scene, as well as at open mics and poetry readings. He is the author of three chapbooks Confessions of a Modern Day Penguin (2009), Love Experiments of a Modern Day Penguin (2010), Existential Ramblings of a Modern Day Penguin (2010). Collectively, they are known as The Modern Day Penguin Trilogy, and are shockingly not about Penguins.

Fauzia Rafique is a fresh and vibrant voice on the local literary scene. She recently released her novel “Skeena” to rave reviews and is now releasing her new poetry chapbook ‘Passion Fruit-Tahnget Phal’. She will be reading from this book at Poetic Justice.
